PCPB raises concerns about unregulated overseas therapy provision
The Partnership of Counselling and Psychotherapy Bodies (PCPB) has written to Baroness Merron, the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Patient Safety, Women’s Health and Mental Health, to raise concerns around unregulated therapy services being delivered from overseas to clients in the UK.
This follows feedback from members and registrants of the PCPB partners, highlighting the importance of this issue across the profession. Key concerns raised include ethical practice, client safety, data protection, confidentiality, the use of AI, appropriate supervision and safeguarding standards.
As a partnership, we are committed to promoting safe, ethical and high-quality practice. We will continue to monitor developments in this area and engage where appropriate to support public protection and uphold professional standards.
